At our practice we specialize in providing patients with precisely placed dental implants. It is very important that dental implants are surgically inserted correctly and in just the right location in order for the dental implant procedure to be completely successful. When patients come to us wanting to get
11570 implants, our periodontist will first assess their individual situation to see if their jawbone is healthy enough and thick enough to withstand the surgery, and to be able to tightly hold the dental implants in place. If it is determined that the jawbone does not currently meet the criteria, our periodontist will be able to perform a bone grafting procedure which will strengthen and thicken the jawbone. After this procedure is completed, the patient can usually go on to get dental implants at our practice. During the dental implant surgery, our periodontist will surgically insert a titanium dental implant root into the jawbone for each tooth that is going to be replaced. There is then a healing time of several months during which time the jawbone will fully heal and the dental implant roots will firmly fuse to the jawbone. During this time, a temporary tooth can usually be placed over the dental implant site. Once the initial healing period is over, our patient will return to his or her general dentist to have a porcelain crown, or crowns, created to act as the top part of the dental implant. The general dentist will then permanently attach the porcelain crowns to the top of the dental implants, and the implant process is complete.
